Carbondale LGBTQ Safe Zone on Meetup.com

There is a new group forming in Carbondale to facilitate safe social spaces for LGBTQ community. The group coordinates through Meetup.com. We'll try to put events on the calendar as we become aware of them, but you can also set up a free meetup.com account and receive notifications directly.

Rising Tide

As we've been participating in the My2024 online conversation, we notice a lot of intersectional coalition building in many contributions.  As we look to a future where we hope to significantly reduce homophobia and other prejudices, we see other impending concerns that certainly affect us all.  And we have to wonder: will these challenges bring us together or break us apart?  

We cling to hope like a drowning person clings to anything that floats that all our lessons learned in advocating for human rights and human diversity will be useful in meeting the challenges that loom, as literal and figurative stormclouds, on the all-too-near horizon
